ASEAN Common Time

ASEAN Common Time is an idea by ASEAN to adopt a standard time of UTC+08 for all member countries. Some businesses with a local or regional reach have already adopted the use of the "ASEAN Common Time", and can be seen using the abbreviation '"ACT"' in their Press Releases, communications, and legal documents. There are also ASEAN citizens who have started using ACT in their sites and blogs. It is planned to use in 2015. Some people has suggested to use UTC+07, as UTC+08 will have problems in Kachin state, Myanmar during summer, which will have sunset at 20:45 and sunrise at 7:20.

As of 2008 time zones used by ASEAN countries are UTC+06:30, UTC+07:00, UTC+08:00 and UTC+09:00.
